Job Description: The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (ADAA) provides leadership and management in areas related to the School's pre-doctoral academic programs. The ADAA provides administrative support for the faculty to have a living curriculum responsive to the on-going and evolving needs of modern dental students. The ADAA maintains a strong supportive relationship with other administrators to provide a mission focus; to ensure compliance with accreditation standards; and to ensure state/federal education compliances are met.
Minimum Qualifications: Required Qualifications:
DDS or DMD (or equivalent) or PhD from an appropriately accredited institution with expertise in dental education.
Broad knowledge of issues in dental education.
Ten years of experience in dental education at the institutional level, working in development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of an educational program leading to the dental degree.
Willingness to apply academic experiences of contemporary dental education and traditional educational values to the Clinical Services Learning Center model.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in supervising the work of others in dental educational settings.
Demonstrated experience working directly with senior dental school administration, university administration, governing boards for higher education, and accrediting agencies.
Demonstrated experience and leadership responsibilities with professional organizations dedicated to education and dental education.
Demonstrated experience in building effective teams to identify and resolve problems.
