Job Description: The Department of Child Development and Family Relations at East Carolina University (ECU) invites application for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position in the Family and Community Service program available at the Assistant or Associate level starting in August 16, 2010.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses; advise students; supervise graduate work; develop and maintain an active research program; secure external funding, and provide service to the profession, community, and university.

The Department of Child Development and Family Relations provides undergraduate programs in family and community services, birth-kindergarten teacher education, family and consumer sciences teacher education, and child life. Master's level graduate programs are offered in family and consumer sciences teacher education, birth-kindergarten teacher education, child development and family relations, and marriage and family therapy, as well as a PhD in medical family therapy. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. from an appropriately accredited institution in family studies, family life education, or a closely related field of study. Experience with intern supervision and other community-based or agency experience preferred. Candidates should hold or be eligible for certification in family life education (CFLE). Successful candidates must be committed to working with diverse student and community populations.
